Atari Corporation: Documentation Manager
Responsible for the creation of end-user documentation for games, applications, TOS- and DOS-based computers and peripherals. Most manuals were translated into five languages and various multilingual manuals produced. Managed writers and editors, both in-house and freelance.
BMC Software: Information Developer 2
Created both online and printed help systems documenting the features and functionality of network management software for Windows, Unix, and OS/390.
Boole & Babbage: Technical Writer
Responsible for the creation of end-user documentation and help systems (RoboHelp) for network management software. Also involved in conversion of manuals from Bookmaster (mainframe) format to FrameMaker.
CyberIQ Systems, Inc.: Senior Technical Writer
Responsible for the creation of documentation for SSL accelerators and load balancers. Instrumental in converting documents from Microsoft Word format to FrameMaker. Trained junior writer and intern in the use of software tools and basics of technical writing. Also functioned as editor, and managed department when the department manager resigned.
Ion Global/Seagate
Worked with a team of writers on a project to rewrite the Seagate Web site with an international audience in mind. Also created Digital Needs pages that presented the company’s products in a broader, solutions-based manner.
Philips Medical Systems
Created a software manual for doctors and nurses using the Motiva system to remotely monitor a patient’s vital sign via a broadband-based monitoring system in the patient’s home. Also edited patient’s guide.
Preview Systems, Inc.: Senior Technical Writer (Contract)
Used FrameMaker and Webworks Publisher to document the components of the ZipLock System for Electronic Software Distribution (DRM). Also responsible for the creation of a task-based manual that culled information from a number of manuals and presented it in a clear, concise fashion.
Quick Eagle Networks: Senior Technical Writer
Responsible for the creation of end-user documentation for the i-Net Management Suite of intelligent WAN access devices and network management software. In addition to end-user documentation, I also created data sheets, application notes, and white papers.
VeriSign
Provided customer support to clients seeking server digital certificates. In addition, created documentation to assist new support representatives and created e-mail templates to streamline and standardize customer communications.
